On the third day of the hunger strike in "Shutka" prison, eight prisoners of the Kumanovo Group radicalize the strike.

According to information from the Skopje Detention Center, today the strikers behind bars refused medical examinations and refused to meet even with the ombudsman's officials.

Meanwhile, the competent authorities for 3 days did not take into account the requests of these eight prisoners.

They say that Shutka prison has no jurisdiction to give them the benefits they seek.

"Today I received the information that on May 4, a hunger strike started.

I do not know their demands, nor do I know the exact number of prisoners, nor do I know their needs.

From here I will go to Skopje Prison and talk to them personally about their requests.

For us, now more important is their health.

I have to look at their personal files, do they meet the conditions, if so, to see in detail whether they have followed the process of re-socialization and whether they use a certain number of their rights in prison ", said Marjan Spasovski, Directorate of Sanctions Enforcement.

Marjan Spasovski promised the prisoners that by May 23 he would transfer them to Idrizovo Prison, from where they could be granted the right to family visits, but not to go home on weekends.

But, he said that in the meantime these benefits will be examined based on their file.

"For security reasons, this group of convicts from the 'Neighborhood of the Brave' case as Macedonian citizens are serving their sentences in Skopje Prison, because only there is a ward for people at high risk.

"Since this is a semi-open prison", said Marjan Spasovski, Directorate of Enforcement of Sanctions.

From the Ministry of Justice, Deputy Minister Agim Nuhiu said that the prisoners will be guaranteed their rights.

"We are in constant coordination with the Directorate for Enforcement of Sanctions, today we had a coordination and I asked that all rights be applied to this group, despite the epilogue from the criminal trial, they are primarily people and their rights they must be respected until the end ", stressed Agim Nuhiu, Deputy Minister of Justice. / Alsat /
